Dear donors,

Regretfully, we had to discontinue the project in Eritrea since the Eritrean Women’s Union 
is no longer providing local administration and control. We believe that an accurate 
statement regarding the use of funds by the partner organisation and annual control on 
location are essential preconditions for the transfer of donations. Despite our frequent 
efforts, the Women’s Union failed to provide this.  

We, the board of Esel-Initiative, regret this very much. With your donations, we 
were able to allocate over 9,000 donkeys to single mothers in Eritrea over a period 
of 13 years. Our efforts will now concentrate on the Nepal project.
